HISTORY AND RULES
The Run & Out was created in 2009 at the 10th Primary School of Ioannina, by Physical education and sports teacher Mihalis (Mike) Mertzianidis, in the effort pupils and students to try something new and different, which would allow them to workout but also to compete with each other. Began to be cultivated in January 2009 and slowly walked in fields of rules and regulations. It borrows from most team sports, but isn' t like any of them. It has unique logistics requirements, and all you need is basically half a basketball court and a ball. Originally played in the schoolyard but could easily be done in any type of terrain (grass, tartan, flooring, sand, etc.) and open or closed. Shows matching glove in school sports, but this does not mean that it can not be played by older people with appropriate additions. The two teams first put 12 players on the pitch. Each team plays once defense, and then once offense and this completes a game( three games all together). The aim now is to run throughout the distance from one corner of the stadium to the other, while the defense is trying to "burn" each attacker and get them out. This is actually ... "Chess" in the field, where everyone moves himself the best he can. In each corner there are bases (all four), which serves as security for attackers, while the defense tries to "burn" them by either hitting them with the ball or touching the ball in the basis, while the attacker is running on the lines. The general idea is that, the ingenuity of students has added its own different strategies and tricks that make it even more spectacular. In the field of physical education, exercises the whole body, and helps children develop explosiveness, strength, endurance, speed, perception, fusion and teamwork, and each parameter, as requested by the gym. A sport-creation of Greece that may expand abroad. In 2009, 150 children of the 10th Primary School of Ioannina participated in the championship. The final was attended by 1000 people in the school yard and at the end of the event trophies and medals were awarded to all groups. In the final local authorities were presented and it was covered by local media. The 2010 national championship was held by 12 teams and 250 children in all. The final took place in the gymnasium of Limnopoula and was also broadcast live via webtv. The aim is to disseminate all in Ioannina and in Greece in the first instance and why not abroad. Also the sport presented at the invitation of the organizers, from 20-22 May 2011, at the International Congress of Physical Education in Physical Education DUTH in Komotini and September 6 at a teacher's training seminar of Physical Education, with the presence of 200 people in Thessaloniki. During 2010-2011 the Run & Out taught in 15 elementary schools in Ioannina. 800 pupils were taught in and 400 of them took part in following championship and was crowned with complete success. Each school was named after a child from those housed in an oncology hospital "Hope", which sent commemorative shirts and medals, as well as videotaped messages of students. At the same time Primary School pupils collected a respectable sum allocated for the needs of children of "Hope."
